Full Body Skin Cancer Check

Full Body Skin Cancer Check

Skin cancer can occur anywhere on the body - even those areas that do not see sun. We offer full head to toe examination of the skin and pride ourselves on being thorough. Your skin lesions will be examined with the use of a dermatoscope - a specialised microscope which helps detect skin cancer early. If appropriate we may biopsy a skin lesion on the day. We advise that you do not wear any makeup and preferably no nail polish prior to your check.

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is a 'freezing' technique which uses liquid nitrogen. We offer cryotherapy as treatment for numerous different skin lesions both benign and cancerous.

Non Surgical Treatment

Non Surgical Treatment

We offer different creams for treatment of skin cancers including topical chemotherapy and immunotherapy. This can only be offered for particular subtypes of skin cancers so this should be discussed with your doctor.

Surgical Excision

Surgical Excision

We offer a variety of different surgical options for treating your skin cancer. These are all done under local anaesthetic - your skin will be numb during the procedure. We offer procedures including curettage and cryotherapy/diathermy, simple excisions as well as complex surgical removal with flap/graft repair.

Curettage

Curettage

Curettage is surgical procedure that can be used to treat low risk skin cancers. It is performed under local anaesthetic - the skin cancer is scraped away and then the base has either cryotherapy or cauterised. The benefit of this type of surgery is that does no require stitches.

Radiotherapy

Radiotherapy

Specific skin cancers may be amenable to treatment with radiotherapy. We will discuss this with you if it is an option for your type of skin cancer. This is not provided on site and we are able to provide you with a referral to a radiation oncologist to access this service.
